Rudél's Birthday

Long, nice, exhausting, fun day

We started our day with a lovely breakfast and Cake.
Breakfast with the fam and Mono
 This was also the last meal we ate with Mono, my mom took her to town where she got a bus to the Northan Cape to continue her internship elsewhere.

And we, finally, went biking.

We left quite late. I had to fill the bikes with petrol, via mouth.
//well maybe that's a bit exaggerated

There wasn't much petrol in either of our tans so I took some out of the lawnmower. By using a tube I had to transfer it to a 2l bottle then throw it in the tanks.
//it felt like a french-kissed a petrol tank

After stopping to fill the tanks at the petrol station we were off to begin our adventure.

So we drove a few kilos when I heard a rattling sound and saw there is something wrong with my front brake. When I pulled it, there was nothing, NAhDAh. After a few pulls it kicked in and I came to a stop before the Railway crossing.

We stopped and checked all the nuts and bolts we could find.
//to think these bikes just came from their service in Pietermaritzburg

We continued our trip North.
We drove past some majestic Giraffes.

Along the way, I had to keep stopping to fasten my front brake, which became quite a nuisance.

We also entered Thanda, which has a District road passing through it, that was our second nature reserve for that day. But it was about 12km long where the previous one was only 5km. Thanda also has; Lions, Elephants, Leopards and other amazing animals roaming free.

Although we did not see any animals, it was still quite thrilling to go through a Nature reserve on a Motorbike.

So we drove a type of circle route, now heading back, we had a general idea of where we should go. But getting there was a whole different ball game.

We went through allot of small townships, some which had amazing views.

This was also the point where I had enough of the bolt in the front brake, I decided it cannot hurt to take it out and put it in the place of the one I lost.
//this was the best idea I had

We unknowingly missed our turn and came across this beautiful scenery.

We continued on and reached Hluhluwe dam, where I thought we should stop and take in the landscape. Rudél decided we should take the time and enjoy the 'picnic' she packed.

This is where we realized we missed our turn. So we headed back...
