One never though about it, well I know I never did. What am I talking about? Chinese people having English names.
As I left the office right now I met our new person at the front desk, again he didn't have an English name.
After some thought and some struggle on the spelling of some names, we finally came up with the name Will. They were hoping for the name to sound similar to his Chinese name, but Will is sort and easy to spell.
That's probably the tenth person I've named since living in China, it's more than 2 people a month.
Talking about giving names I once renamed a kid Brendan because his name was Hamburger. Luckily that is the weirdest name I've heard so far, but some of my colleagues did have students with kind of stripper names. These I will not mention but they were funny.
